Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal and Pediatric Care

Shift: Nights from 7 PM to 7 AM

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. This role involves performing patient assessments, instituting respiratory care plans, and conducting various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations (Code Blue and White)
• Manage airways, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
• Administer aerosolized drugs
• Manage ventilators, including setup and operation
• Provide oral hygiene and airway support
• Conduct oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring
• Perform chest film analysis and blood gas collection
• Analyze EKGs and document patient data accurately
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 - 3 years of experience preferred
• RT or RCP License in the state of TX required
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only) required
• Current PALS certification (AHA only) required
• Current NRP certification required
