Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide critical care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including ECMO support. The position requires floating to the cardiac stepdown unit as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in the CVICU with a focus on cardiac and multisystem organ failure.
• Manage ECMO therapy and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
• Perform continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and pharmacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CVICU or a related specialty.
• Active certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic documentation is required.
• Travel experience is required.
