LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process for patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and leadership in planning for safe patient care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to personnel involved in patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ACLS & BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Vent/trach experience is required.
• Knowledge of central lines is essential.
• Wound care experience is preferred.
• Must hold a valid NM or multi-state compact RN license.

Schedule

This position requires working shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
