Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, with every 3rd weekend obligation (Saturday and Sunday).

Job Description

Under the direction of a qualified physician, you will perform a variety of technical MRI procedures that require minimum independent magnetic pulses for the diagnosis of disease in humans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform MRI procedures in compliance with department standards with a minimum of 99% accuracy.
• Schedule appropriate amounts of time for each patient and regularly review requisitions during the shift.
• Prepare all opaque contrast media with an accuracy rate of 100%.
• Process images within 30 minutes of the completion of the examination.
• Translate physician's orders into appropriate radiographic procedures with a minimum accuracy rate of 99%.
• Maintain patient logs and equipment downtime records.
• Work closely with radiologists to develop imaging protocols for optimal imaging studies.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the supervisor of replacement needs with a minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
• Transport patients safely to and from the department and other designated areas.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
• Ensure proper recording of all charges associated with patient exams.
• Assist patients and families throughout their stay.
• Cross-train in other areas if applicable and assist with duties of absent employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a licensed MRI Tech is required.
• NJ State MRI License and AART (MRI) certification are required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients are essential.
