Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is a critical member of the patient care team, responsible for both direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in various assigned areas. The RN will develop and update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and identify resources available for patients.

Responsibilities

• Develop and periodically update individualized patient care plans.
• Evaluate patient outcomes effectively.
• Identify and utilize resources available for patient care.
• Provide care to patients with psychiatric illnesses and associated medical needs.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing.
• Education: 2-Year Associate's degree required.
• Valid State of Maine RN license.
• BLS Certification required.
• CPI training must be current prior to start.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to provide coverage 24/7 is required.
