Central Service Technician

Job Description

The Central Service Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by Central Service. The role requires a conscientious individual capable of managing pressure assignments and maintaining confidentiality while supporting the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation of autoclave units daily.
• Conduct biological and chemical tests at the beginning of each shift and maintain appropriate logs.
• Inspect gas and steam autoclaves for malfunctions.
• Process contaminated instruments and supplies following sterilization principles.
• Assist in training and in-services for new and existing employees.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily responsibilities.
• Properly load, operate, and clean all sterilizers and related equipment.
• Receive, deliver, and requisition surgical supplies.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives directed by management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certified CRCST and CER.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with department personnel and medical staff.
