Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. No call required.

Job Description

The position involves working in a Progressive Care Unit, a 15-bed unit that includes 3 Step Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse will be responsible for providing primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and performing fingerstick blood sugar tests.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips.
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests.
• Utilize Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medication management.
• Manage equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Float to other acute units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
• Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred.
• Hawaii nursing license required by start of assignment.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred.
