Weekends: 6 PM - 6:30 AM, Weekdays: 11:30 AM - 12 AM (overnights) with a rotating schedule. Candidates must have flexibility.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the Computed Tomography Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. This role may also include performing general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Review clinical data on requisition and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional patient medical history as necessary.
• Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish stock such as linen and supplies.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform CT scans while manually controlling the equipment for diagnostic information.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions, providing immediate care as needed.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures.
• Assist Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
• Perform imaging procedures demonstrating radiation protection principles, including ALARA techniques.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
• Complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Review clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies.
• Demonstrate team member standards of excellence, including communication and respect for diversity.
• Document necessary information in the medical record and within the RIS to support clinical and billing functions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• ARRT (CT) certification or registry-eligible.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with peripheral IV insertion or willingness to receive training.
