Schedule

3x12-hour shifts, days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

The Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN plays a critical role in patient care, providing telemetry monitoring and general medical-surgical care. This position requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry readings, responding promptly to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation in electronic health records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a medical/surgical or telemetry unit.
• Current RN license in South Carolina or Compact license in hand.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred.
• Telemetry competency and experience in a community hospital setting preferred.
• Previous charge experience is a plus.
