Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift, 4x12 Schedule

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient information and status updates in a timely manner for team conferences.
• Responsible for accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and maintain open communication with management regarding service needs.
• Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience (Highly desired)
