Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while embracing the organization's core values. Promoting patient and employee safety is paramount, as is effective communication and support to reinforce health outcomes and care continuity.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care and identify educational needs based on the nursing admission assessment.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety according to policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functionality and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development opportunities through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in stepdown units is required.

Schedule

This position is for a night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
