Registered Nurse - High Risk Labor & Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The nurse will be expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery environment while adhering to AWHONN guidelines. The nurse will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage and care to obstetrical patients.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and react to abnormal patterns.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and recovery for C-section patients.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
• Conduct newborn assessments, including administration of Vitamin K injections.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high acuity, fast-paced environments, with preference for candidates having high-risk experience.
• Current BLS, NRP certifications; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate are preferred.
• Active state nursing license or compact license.
• Strong supervisory references and proof of certifications required upon submission.
