Three 12-hour shifts from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. or four 10-hour shifts from 1 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend required.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. The role involves the utilization of independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
• Review clinical data on requisition and perform appropriate examinations while obtaining patient medical history.
• Prepare the procedure room and replenish stock including linens and related supplies.
• Analyze anatomical structures of the patient, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures ensuring proper diagnostic information is obtained.
• May select and administer intravenous contrast media while monitoring patients for possible reactions and providing immediate care if necessary.
• Perform imaging procedures demonstrating radiation protection principles.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures, following infection control practices.
• Complete all necessary documentation in patient records and radiology information systems.
• Resolve image exceptions in PACS to ensure high quality image delivery.
• Participate in teaching and educating new hires and students as required.
• Adhere to department standards for patient care, safety, privacy, and legal rights.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must maintain the required hours of continuous education.
• Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
