Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule

5 days, 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM. May work until 5 PM or later based on case load.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists, and facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, and resolving image processing issues.

  • Collaborate with management and coworkers to create an optimal work environment.
  • Provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
  • Adapt assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of patients.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care set by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput.
  • Scan and store completed exams correctly in PACS.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other approved equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required.
  • State Licensure required - Texas: MRT by TMB.
  • BLS certification required (AHA only).
