Job Description

The ICU Nurse will provide critical care to patients experiencing respiratory distress, post-arrest situations, acute myocardial infarctions (MI), and those requiring balloon pump and ventilator support. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a primary physician model and providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Administer medications and manage IV fluids, including titration of drip medications such as vasopressors and anticoagulants.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, interpreting telemetry strips and making informed decisions on patient care.
• Coordinate with respiratory therapy for ventilator management and troubleshoot respiratory equipment when necessary.
• Assist in the orientation and mentoring of new staff and travelers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Experience with balloon pump management.
• Comfortable with ventilator management and drip titration.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Must possess an unexpired driver’s license and disclose any licensing hits at the time of submission.
