Job Description

The Occupational Therapist provides full-time, quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care, treating patients across all age ranges and diagnoses. This position encompasses home visits, village travel, and requires collaboration with medical providers, utilizing strong clinical skills due to Alaska’s Direct Access privilege for occupational therapy. The therapist incorporates evidence-based medicine into patient care plans while respecting cultural diversity and exemplifying professional conduct and patient care ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services for outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Conduct home visits and travel to villages as needed for patient care.
• Collaborate with medical providers to optimize patient outcomes.
• Develop and modify patient care plans based on individual and age-specific considerations.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to guide treatment and management of patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
• Must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as an Occupational Therapist or hold a valid license from another state.
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred but not required clinical experience.
