Schedule

Shift: Rotating schedule, primarily nights (3x12 hour shifts)

• Night shifts: 19:00 - 07:30
• Day shifts: 07:00 - 19:30
• Weekend requirement: Up to 5 weekend shifts per schedule for nights (Fri/Sat/Sun); 4 weekend shifts per schedule for days (Saturdays and Sundays)

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized care for children ages 0-18, managing a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Responsibilities include delivering intensive and intermediate care, utilizing advanced therapies such as ECMO and CRRT, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in the PICU, delivering critical care for post-operative and trauma patients.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed, including blood products and sedation.
• Collaborate with medical teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide education and support to families regarding care practices and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement measures and adhere to safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required.
• Current SC or Multi-State RN license is mandatory.
• Certifications: BLS and PALS required (American Heart Association accepted).
• Preferred experience with ECMO and CRRT.
