Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable to the Unit Manager for overall nursing practice during assigned shifts. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the RN will report to the Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Nursing House Supervisor. The RN will provide professional nursing care based on current knowledge using the nursing process, which involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prioritize patient health data utilizing appropriate assessment techniques.
• Analyze assessment data to determine valid nursing diagnoses.
• Identify expected outcomes tailored to the individual patient.
• Develop and document a plan of care that prescribes relevant interventions.
• Implement interventions as per the established plan of care, ensuring patient safety.
• Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes and revise care plans as necessary.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance nursing care standards.
• Continuously seek to maintain knowledge in nursing practices and specialties.
• Demonstrate leadership by prioritizing and delegating care activities appropriately.
• Collaborate ethically with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license and relevant certifications.
• Preference for candidates with EPIC patient charting experience.
