Job Description

The 8 Northeast unit is a vital part of the Jon Michael Moore Level 1 Trauma Center, specializing in medical, surgical, and trauma patient care. The unit comprises 24 private rooms equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities, with an RN to patient ratio of 1:3, supported by clinical associates. Nurses will care for patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, complex trauma, and respiratory complications, including chronic ventilator dependence.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.
• Perform assessments and develop individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for effectiveness and side effects.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize advanced medical technologies and equipment for patient monitoring.
• Support patient mobilization and rehabilitation efforts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in the state of West Virginia.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong assessment skills with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to titrate drips, including cardizem, labetalol, and amiodarone.
