Schedule

5x8-hour shifts, alternating between evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) and night (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) from Monday to Friday. Flexibility regarding shifts is required.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses to support patient care. The role requires strong experience, preferably with prior charge experience in a hospital laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests and processes with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to interpret lab results and ensure high-quality patient care.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Assist in mentorship or training of new staff as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required.
• Active ASCP certification is mandatory; ASCP-MLS and BLS certifications preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Strong skills in blood bank procedures and laboratory analyses.
