Surgical Technician - Day Shift

Schedule

Day shift, 5x8-Hour schedule (07:00 - 15:30).

Job Description

The Surgical Technician will perform scrub duties during surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the physician and the circulating registered nurse. The role includes assisting in departmental operations as directed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clinical competency in caring for patients of all ages: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Assist the surgeon as scrub personnel according to established standards, including:
• Scrubbing, gowning, and gloving in accordance with established policy.
• Setting up tables, instruments, and supplies relevant to the operation.
• Preparing and draping patients as needed.
• Anticipating the needs of surgeons for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Observing the patient and being prepared for emergencies.
• Maintaining a correct count of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Maintaining aseptic technique at all times as directed by established policy.
• Assisting in the care and handling of specimens and cultures.
• Applying dressings and casts, and moving patients as directed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
