Med Surg RN - Nights

Schedule

12-hour night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30 with every other weekend requirement. This role may require additional overtime shifts and holiday coverage.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN will provide care for patients in a 23-bed unit with a maximum nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Nurses will float to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for assignments unless telemetry trained. This position requires strong clinical skills and flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
• Adapt to floating assignments as needed, contributing to team flexibility.
• Maintain accurate patient records and utilize the EPIC charting system.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Nebraska.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Previous Med Surg experience preferred.
