Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This is a 13-week contract position.

Responsibilities

• Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identifies teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient through collaboration with the patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provides patient information and status in a timely manner for the Initial Team Conference and for Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Responsible for accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participates in the patient rehabilitation program and utilizes the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiates discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission and provides patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
• Communicates pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel and delegates responsibilities appropriately.
• Assures personal and environmental safety following hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
• Contributes positively to the unit by providing calm direction and participating in team-building activities.
• Maintains communication with management related to service needs for supplies, equipment, and clinical training.
• Assumes charge responsibility as requested and actively pursues professional growth through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification is required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12.0 hours per week.
