Job Description

The Ambulatory Surgery RN in the PACU will assess and implement care for patients undergoing ambulatory surgery procedures. The role requires a basic understanding of operative procedures and the ability to collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as per the physician's authorized plan of care and established nursing standards.
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and assistance with transfers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans in collaboration with other team members and suggest updates as necessary.
• Process physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring comprehensive follow-up on medication changes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of RN experience - Required
• Pre/Post Op experience - Required
• PACU experience - Required
• Epic EMR experience - Preferred
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification - Required
• Skills checklist relevant to PACU, current within the last year - Required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years - Required
