Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to inform care plans.
- Identify and address patient and family education needs from the initial assessment and throughout care.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in accordance with policy.
- Engage in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process effectively.
- Initiate discharge planning upon patient admission, preparing for the transition of care.
- Communicate significant changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and mentor ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and training as required.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support team dynamics by fostering a positive work environment and participating in team building activities.
- Identify personal professional growth opportunities and pursue continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift for specific locations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
