Schedule

Shift: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday; 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM on weekends. On-call typically 3 times in a 2-week period, with one weekend call.

Job Description

The Echocardiographer plays a vital role in using ultrasound technology to create real-time images of the heart. This imagery assists doctors in diagnosing heart conditions such as murmurs, heart failure, and arrhythmias by identifying structural issues and assessing heart function. Key responsibilities include operating complex equipment, positioning patients, explaining procedures, and recording data, while closely collaborating with cardiologists to provide critical insights into cardiovascular health.

Responsibilities

• Utilize ultrasound technology to create detailed images of the heart.
• Assist in diagnosing heart conditions by identifying structural issues.
• Operate and maintain echocardiographic equipment.
• Position patients accurately for optimal imaging results.
• Record detailed data for cardiology assessments.
• Collaborate effectively with cardiologists and medical staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in echocardiography - REQUIRED
• ARDMS AE certification - REQUIRED
• BLS certification - REQUIRED
• Michigan license verification is required for nurses.
