Job Description

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the health care team using evidence-based practice, demonstrating accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers while providing safe and optimal patient outcomes. Promotes continuity of care by communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate. Directs the work of the support staff in the provision of care and performs general nursing duties utilizing critical thinking skills with minimal supervision. Capable of working with age-specific populations according to the setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver optimal patient care.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure effective nursing actions.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Supervise support staff in the delivery of care.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN.
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
