Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Unit Registered Nurse for a fast-paced surgical unit with a focus on teamwork and patient care. This unit accommodates 36 beds and is staffed by a team of 40 registered nurses per shift, ensuring optimal coverage and immediate support for patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain post-operative surgical procedure sites, including wound care and dressing changes.
• Manage Foley Catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Perform ostomy appliance changes and maintenance.
• Conduct Nasogastric Tube insertion and suction.
• Administer TPN and provide blood administration.
• Provide central line care and dressing changes.
• Participate in bedside shift reports to ensure effective communication among staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a current BLS certification.
• Strong time management and efficiency skills are essential for this fast-paced unit with a short length of stay.
• Teamwork and collaboration are vital; experience in post-operative surgical areas such as vascular, bariatric, urology, and colorectal surgery is preferred.
