Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The role emphasizes a commitment to patient and employee safety, prioritizing a culture of safety and quality throughout all levels of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and teach patients in preparation for discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute to a positive unit environment through team building and effective communication.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and prioritize activities effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
