Job Description

The Psych RN will perform direct patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment. The role involves documenting patient care given, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, and assisting patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation. The RN will collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. The RN will also evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or families and provide appropriate education.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document all patient care provided.
• Monitor and report changes in patient conditions.
• Assist patients with daily living activities.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide education to patients and families based on individual needs.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
