Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and assisting in patient transport as medically prescribed. The role includes evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, educating patients about procedures, and ensuring proper discharge instructions are provided. The Respiratory Therapist will operate various ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices, performing necessary procedures and monitoring patient responses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physician-prescribed treatments using a range of respiratory equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as required.
• Monitor and perform oximetry and capnography assessments.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and assist in further evaluations when necessary.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory-related procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Perform routine maintenance and self-tests on respiratory equipment.
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Experience in a similar healthcare environment preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a day shift schedule comprising 3 twelve-hour shifts.
