This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are 3x12 hours with a rotating schedule: primarily days (07:00 - 19:30) for 2 months, followed by 1 month of nights (19:00 - 07:30). There is a holiday requirement if the contract is during that period, as well as weekend requirements.

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides intensive and intermediate care for children ages 0-18. The unit handles a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including respiratory compromise, trauma, and post-operative care. Additional complex therapies such as ECMO and CRRT are administered as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
• Administer complex therapies, including ventilatory, cardiac support, ECMO, and CRRT.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient vitals and report any changes in condition.
• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to care protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required.
• Current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (AHA only).
• Preferred experience: ECMO and CRRT.
