Shifts will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist is an ARRT Registered Therapist responsible for administering radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. The Therapist interacts with patients with cancer, physicians, nurses, and co-workers, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills. The role involves caring for patients of all age groups from newborns to geriatrics, helping to alleviate their fear and apprehension about treatment. Responsibilities include setting up patients for accurate radiotherapy, explaining treatment processes, and ensuring the warm-up of treatment machines.

Responsibilities

• Produce acceptable radiographs for simulation and tattoo treatment areas as needed.
• Maintain proper patient positioning for treatments and simulations.
• Provide education to patients regarding treatment expectations and potential reactions.
• Ensure all necessary checks and logs are completed accurately.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients throughout the treatment process.
• Assist in maintaining an orderly and stocked treatment environment.
• Participate in performance improvement activities as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ARRT certification and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Experience using Elekta equipment is required.
• Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse age groups.
