Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting safety for both patients and employees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop an individualized plan of care based on assessment data.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs and goals related to diagnoses.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education throughout care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following orientation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (for specific locations)
• Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired.
