Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Surgical Unit Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. As a vital member of our surgical team, you will support patients through their postoperative recovery, ensuring all standards of care and patient safety are met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain post-operative surgical procedure sites
• Execute wound care including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
• Manage Foley catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation
• Perform ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
• Insert and manage nasogastric tubes
• Administer TPN and blood safely
• Ensure proper central line care and dressing changes
• Conduct bedside shift reports and collaborate with team members for optimal patient outcomes

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have strong time management and efficiency skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short length of stay (LOS)
• Teamwork oriented, with a focus on customer service
• Current BLS certification required
• Background in postoperative surgical areas preferred (vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal)
