6:30 am - 7:00 pm (3 days), and 6:30 pm - 7:00 am (4 days), with every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gases therapy to patients. This role involves performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in the Intensive Care and General Practice Units. The therapist also maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments as needed and communicates effectively regarding patient care with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees. The role requires adequate documentation of all aspects of patient care and entails supervising, directing, and delegating tasks to Respiratory Therapists, interns, externs, and students as assigned. Additionally, it includes completing necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-support and resuscitation to patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain clinical expertise for various departmental assignments.
• Communicate effectively regarding patient care needs.
• Document all aspects of patient care adequately.
• Supervise and direct other respiratory staff.
• Complete necessary billing information accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience required.
• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program required.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in Michigan required.
• Certification in BLS required.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care required.
