Step-down RN - Night Shift 3x12-Hour

Night shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Must be available to work charge as needed.

Job Description

The Step-down RN will provide care for a mixture of med/surg and intermediate care patients. The nurse-to-patient ratios will range from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on patient assignments each shift. Charge experience is required for this role. The RN will also engage in interdisciplinary support activities, including collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other essential services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care and maintain patient safety.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Charge experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR is required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Telemetry and step-down unit experience preferred.
