Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in caring for adults, adolescents, and geriatric populations with medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs and creates individualized plans of care.
• Promotes and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient.
• Teaches patients and families to support self-care and healing beyond hospitalization.
• Documents education provided and patient/family responses.
• Engages in self-evaluation and seeks opportunities for professional development.
• Develops meaningful connections with patients and families to provide emotional support.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and intervention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• One (1) Year Experience serving in a Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse Required
