Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring compliance with the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of quality, safety, team collaboration, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission and collect data to establish individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely updates on patient status during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Ensure effective communication of patient status changes between care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and staff morale.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
