Ricketts Glen State Park 

If you’re on assignment in Northeastern PA, then you may have heard about Ricketts Glen State Park in passing.  

Ricketts Glen State Park in Benton, PA is home to one of the most popular hiking trails in Pennsylvania known as the “Ricketts Glen Falls Loop”. This moderate 8-mile-long loop trails along beautiful waterfalls and scenic streams.   

This trail is perfect for the beginner or seasoned hiker looking to spend the day outdoors in Northeastern Pennsylvania 

Longwood Gardens 

If hiking isn’t necessarily your thing, then Longwood Gardens might be the perfect destination for you! Enjoy leisurely strolls through lush gardens at this popular attraction in Kennett Square, PA.  

Just an hour outside Philadelphia, Longwood Gardens is home to over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows. These gardens change each season depending on what’s in bloom and the current upcoming holidays.  

When you’re done at Longwood Gardens be sure to visit Kennett Square, PA to enjoy various coffee shops, pubs, and boutiques!  

Highland Park 

Right outside of the Highland Park Historic District in center city Pittsburgh sits the adequately named, Highland Park. Highland Park is well-known for its Reservoir, Victorian-style Entry Garden, biking trails, lake, and of course the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium!  

Spend the day visiting the zoo, enjoying the beautiful views of Highland Park, and then end the day at one of the surrounding bistros or cafes.  

If you’re looking to be a little more active, take a bike ride or hike along the Reservoir Loop trail. No matter what kind of activities you’re looking for, Highland Park can cover them all! 

Presque Isle State Park 

At the top northwest corner of PA sits the most visited state park in Pennsylvania, Presque Isle State Park. Off the coast of Erie, PA, this state park sits on Lake Erie and is home to 11 miles of beaches, concert spaces, lighthouses, and lagoons.  

This little isle has much to offer for everyone! Take a relaxing day on the beach, go sightseeing on a boat tour, or enjoy biking along the many trails located throughout the park.  

If you’re on assignment near Erie, PA this is one place you don’t want to miss!
