Registered Nurse - Preoperative Care

Schedule

This position requires 4 ten-hour shifts per week, specifically from 12 PM to 10 PM. No weekends are expected.

Job Description

The role is focused on providing preoperative care in a surgical center, engaging in procedures requiring same-day and overnight stays. The RN will be responsible for preoperative assessments and ensuring patient safety and comfort in the preop area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preoperative preparation of patients.
• Provide direct patient care in a surgical setting.
• Carry out IV skills and manage surgical care knowledge with a focus on robotics.
• Scrub procedures as required by the role.
• Participate in charge nurse and house supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a current BLS certification.
• IV skills and surgical care knowledge are essential.
• Experience in preoperative care is preferred.
• Must be familiar with EMR systems, specifically experience in Allscripts and preparing for EPIC go-live.
