Medical Laboratory Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will utilize their skills to perform complex tests, monitor quality control programs, and promote cost-effective testing practices. The ideal candidate will communicate technical information effectively, demonstrate a commitment to patient care, and practice safe laboratory techniques. This role requires independent work and the ability to function within a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and correlate clinical lab tests following department protocols.
• Prepare and analyze patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
• Maintain efficient lab operations and assist in quality control procedures.
• Demonstrate high proficiency in blood banking and phlebotomy.
• Utilize Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiological, and Blood Bank experience in daily duties.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 3 years of current MLT, MT, or MLS experience.
• Minimum 3 months of previous travel experience is required.
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB Certification is mandatory; NCCT or NHA certifications are not accepted.
• High proficiency in phlebotomy is required.
• Experience with Tube Method for Blood Bank is necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Traveler candidates must have their own vehicle.
