Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend required, with floating as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join a busy medical-surgical unit. The candidate must be capable of handling a high patient turnover and providing excellent care in a fast-paced environment. This role includes post-operative orthopedic and general surgery patients and requires occasional floating to the ICU for step-down assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to med-surg patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient outcomes.
• Prepare patients for discharge while ensuring smooth transitions to follow-up care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Active RN license in the state of New Mexico.
• Candidates must undergo fingerprinting as mandated for all NM travelers.
