Sterile Processing Supervisor

Schedule

This position requires a 5x8 schedule, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with holiday rotation. Weekend work is not required.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Supervisor will oversee all aspects of sterile processing within the department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will be responsible for supervising a team, managing operations, and maintaining instrument tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Lead Technicians, Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage.
• Provide daily assignments based on workload and departmental priorities.
• Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical demand and monitor tray turnaround times and instrument availability.
• Audit tray assembly accuracy and implement service recovery measures when necessary.
• Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes while adhering to infection control and safety procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience.
• Prior leadership experience is required.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems is preferred.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA are required.
