Sterile Processing Supervisor

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8 hours, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with holiday rotation. Weekend floating may be required under extenuating circumstances.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to ensure efficient processing of medical instruments and equipment. This role includes supervision of staff across various SPD work areas and collaboration with other departments to meet surgical demand.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Lead Technicians and staff in decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage.
• Assign daily staff duties based on workload and case volume.
• Ensure instrument tracking system accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Coordinate daily operations to meet surgical case demands and monitor tray turnaround times.
• Audit tray assembly accuracy and address service concerns to implement recovery measures.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sterile processing, with prior leadership experience required.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems is preferred.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA are required.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of sterilized instruments.
• Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN procedures.
