Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care while maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education. The role includes delegating patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the available staff, as well as providing direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients.
• Utilize the Nursing Process effectively for patient assessment and planning.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in decision-making.
• Supervise and direct nursing personnel in patient care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies and pursue continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid TN RN or multi-state compact RN license.
• ACLS & BLS certifications (by the American Heart Association).
• Experience with ventilators and tracheostomy care.
• Knowledge of central lines.
• Preferred wound care experience.
• Minimum patient ratio of 6-1.
