Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Schedule

This position requires a 5-day work week, with 8-hour shifts from 07:00 to 15:30. Weekend on-call coverage is required, including 2 weekend call shifts per month and 1 call night per week.

Job Description

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse will practice independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. This role involves developing skills to manage clinical nursing contingencies, delegating assignments to other care providers, and addressing the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Address increasingly complex psychological and social issues in accordance with the level of nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact required.
