Job Description

An experienced Med Surg RN is needed to provide observation and inpatient care to patients within the Medical/Surgical Unit. Responsibilities include assessing and prioritizing patient care, administering nursing care and procedures, monitoring and reassessing patients, documenting changes, educating patients and families, collaborating with providers, and supporting continuity of care to reduce readmission rates.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within the RN scope of practice and according to physician orders.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Monitor patients for changes in conditions and report findings to providers.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments accurately and timely.
• Complete required electronic documentation efficiently.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold patient rights and dignity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support overall patient care.
• Mentor and support ongoing learning for nursing staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience.
• Previous traveling experience in a nursing role.
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience is mandatory.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain licensure in good standing.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records are necessary.
