Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with holiday and weekend requirements.

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients. The nurse will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, which may include those requiring ventilatory support, cardiac monitoring, and other intensive therapies.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs and lab results.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Manage and monitor life support equipment, including ECMO and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience.
• Current RN license in South Carolina or Multi-State Compact license.
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association certification required).
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT is preferred.
