Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while emphasizing patient and employee safety throughout the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Facilitate communication regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Promote and ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Engage in teamwork activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as necessary following orientation.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required
• ACLS Certification Required (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred.
